A Bespoke Hacker Scala Kitchen for a Modern Family Home Near Swaffham

At Blaines, we believe every home deserves a kitchen that reflects not only great design but how a family truly lives. For this new-build property just outside Swaffham, we were asked to create a space with real impact — something beautiful, practical, and unique to the home’s open-plan layout.

The client wanted a kitchen that felt like more than just a functional space — it had to be a centrepiece, a showstopper, and a joy to live in every day. Working alongside the developer from the early stages, our designers crafted a layout and look that complements the house perfectly.

Bold Colour, Timeless Materials

The Hacker Scala kitchen we installed brings together rich Olive Green doors with luxurious walnut accents, enhanced with brass handleless rails and a matching Blanco brass tap and waste — a stunning combination of natural warmth and contemporary polish.

The worktop is Ethereal Calcutta Gold Silestone, chosen for its elegant marble-inspired veining, soft gold tones, and exceptional durability. It creates a bright, luxurious contrast against the darker cabinetry while remaining incredibly practical for family life.

Intelligent Design Features

At the heart of the kitchen is a large central island, fitted with a vented induction hob to allow cooking right in the social space, without the need for overhead extraction. The island offers generous prep space, integrated storage in the form of plenty of accessible drawers, and a perfect place for casual dining or entertaining. On the opposite side of the island is a large leg space to allow up to 4 people to sit on stools and enjoy the kitchen experience.

On the far end of the island, we created a bespoke walnut dresser unit complete with open cubby shelving, inset lighting, and brass power sockets. It adds a touch of furniture-style charm and is ideal for displaying glassware, cookbooks, or family treasures.

Every appliance was chosen for both performance and aesthetics. The kitchen features a premium Neff oven and microwave, seamlessly integrated into the tall cabinetry, providing the client with sleek functionality and advanced cooking technology.

Matching Utility for a Seamless Finish

Just beyond the main kitchen area is a fully matching utility room, continuing the Olive Green and walnut theme. This hidden gem ensures the same high-end style runs throughout the home, proving that utility spaces can be just as beautiful as they are functional.

A Kitchen Built to Impress and to Enjoy

From the showstopping Silestone surfaces to the Blanco brassware, every detail has been carefully considered and expertly installed.
