A Modern Family Bathroom

Earthy Elegance: A Modern Family Bathroom with Marble and Oak Accents

This master family bathroom, was for a new build property in a village just outside Swaffham. Our design demonstrates how thoughtful and intuitive design can overcome limitations and a broad range of needs. We worked within the constraints of pre-installed plumbing, ensuring the existing WC and bath positions were seamlessly integrated into the final design.

Our design works with the room’s limited natural light, we focused on creating a bright and reflective space. The client desired a touch of tiling without overwhelming the room, leading us to a sophisticated half-tiled approach for non-wet areas. The areas around the bath naturally had to be fully tiled.

The unifying element is the stunning gold and earthy veined marble effect tile from Verona’s Goldman range. The spacious 600 x 600mm floor tiles, paired with 300 x 600mm brick-bond wall tiles, create a seamless and luxurious feel. Gunmetal grey grouting and brush chrome tile trim add a modern, refined finish.

Understanding the potential for family use, we prioritised storage, practicality, and ease of use. The Barbalino Oak furniture from Avalon Bathrooms, featuring a striking black marble-style worktop, provides ample storage while introducing warmth and comfort, preventing the space from feeling overly clinical. These oaky tones of the furniture naturally complement the colours in the marble-style veins of the tiles.

The shower over the bath was a strategic choice, acknowledging the potential need for a family-friendly bathing solution. This versatility ensures ease of use for both children and adults, while a separate, level-access shower in the ensuite caters to those who may need a level-entry solution.

For added convenience and modern living, an electric mirror unit with integrated 2-pin and USB charging ports allows for seamless device charging. The adjustable LED lighting, transitioning from warm to cool white with variable brightness, allows for a personalized ambience, perfect for a relaxing bath or daily routine.

This master bathroom demonstrates our commitment to creating spaces that are both aesthetically pleasing and functionally sound. We have balanced modern elegance with practical considerations, ensuring this bathroom will serve the needs of its owners for years to come.
